Over the Hill Farm Rises to the Capital Challenge

Over the Hill Farm of Sanford, Fla. rose to the occasion and finished with numerous tri-color ribbons at the end of Capital Challenge. Bill Schaub, trainer, led the group for the trip that ended Sunday, October 5, 2008.

One of Schaub’s trainers, Molly Sewell, qualified for a new Capital Challenge class, the $5,000 Emerging Pro Challenge. A one-round classic, Sewell rode Lee Cesery’s What D’Ya Know to a score that averaged over 85 points. She was awarded the Reserve Championship on Wednesday, October 1. Sewell feels she is an emerging pro because “the clients are starting to really get behind me now and I am getting some rides on great horses. This was so much fun!”

The ponies and their riders of Over the Hill Farm could not go unnoticed. Halo earned the Medium Pony Championship and Grand Pony Hunter Championship with Ashley LeCroy in the irons. LeCroy was also named Best Child Rider on a Pony. Shawn Casady had success, riding A Day at the Beach to two scores of 90 in the Large Pony division.

Casady also rode Dr. Betsee Parker’s Liseter’s Clever Star to a fourth place finish for the one round of the WCHR Pony Hunter Challenge. This finish meant that Casady earned the Reserve Championship for the year in the WCHR. LeCroy was third in her one round on Halo, earning her the fourth place for the year.
