Over the Hill Farm Has Multiple Champions at First Week of HITS Ocala Winter Circuit

Ocala, FL- February 15- Over the Hill Farm and trainer Bill Schaub had a very successful opening week at the Ocala Winter Circuit. The riders at Over the Hill Farm amassed four champions and six reserve championships in one week. The championships ranged from Pony Jumpers to Pre-Green Hunters.

Katie Hogan had a great week in the Pony Jumpers on her two mounts, Just Have Fun and Thunder Jam. Just Have Fun was champion in the division and blazed to a quick finish to win the Pony Jumper Classic. She also picked up second place in the classic with Thunder Jam. Katie has made a move up to the Children’s Jumpers with Blew By You. The bigger jumps did not seem to faze Katie, however, as she ended up as champion in the division.

Older sister Lauren Hogan and her pony, Time to Talk, were reserve champions in the Large Pony Hunters. Grey Goose, co-owned by Schaub and Avera Ventures, was the Large Green Pony Hunter champion with Megan Massaro riding.

Lee Cesery’s horses had an exceptional week, as What D’Ya Know and Lexy Reed won the Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic, and Toblerone and rider Keith Alaimo were champions in the Pre-Green hunters and reserve champions in one section on the Low Hunters. Another Low Hunter reserve champion was Role Model, ridden by Hunt Tosh and owned by Courtney Rodrigue.

Other hunter prizes went to Pollock and Laura Van Den Berg, who were second in the Marshall and Sterling Adult Amateur Classic and Spring Magic and Abbey Gray, who were reserve champions in both the Short Stirrup Hunter and Equitation divisions. Van den Berg was also named Best Adult Rider of the first week at the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit.

Hush and Martha Hall rounded out the jumper awards by placing third in the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.

These successful horses and riders will be returning to Ocala next week to defend their titles in the second week of the HITS Winter Circuit.
