OTHF Rises to the Capital Challenge

“One Junior Rider. Four horses. What a week!” said Trainer Bill Schaub after the finish of the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Sterling and Coronation closed out Capital Challenge 2021 on a high note! They earned the Small Junior Hunter, 15 & under, championship. The pair also captured the Junior Hunter 15 and Under Grand Championship. Thank you to all involved, especially our top grooms!

These two were so special this week: Sterling Malnik and In Writing won the EMO Junior High-Score Trip of the Show with a score of 92! Congratulations on a job well done!

Congratulations also goes out to Hollin Sutherland and Rafferty on their Reserve Championship finish in the WIHS Children’s Hunter Challenge.

Super Summer Shows for OTHF

Over The Hill Farm enjoyed super results during the summer tour, from Brandywine in Pennsylvania to Kentucky for the Blue Grass Festival.

Highlights included tricolor honors for Sterling and her hunters Coronation, Rockette and Sweet Caroline as well as wins with Charlie in the equitation and Chester in the Low Junior Jumpers.

Sterling and Charlie also tackled the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships, where they placed 11th in the Handy Hunter Section B and 14th overall in Section B.

Hollin Sutherland and Rafferty continued to collect top honors in the Children’s Hunters, including championships at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival and Brandywine as well as tricolors with Bozeman, including the Split Rock Hunter Jumper Classic.

In Writing with Sterling Malnik and Steven Gregario

Over The Hill Farm’s summer 2021 show tour included a fun and successful stop at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Traverse City, Michigan.

Sterling Malnik’s In Writing jumped to the Performance Hunter 3’6” Championship during Week V and earned a reserve championship. Rockette and Sterling also picked up a Junior Hunter Championship and the Grand Junior Hunter Champion and won a Junior Hunter Classic.

Rockette wasn’t our only mare that shined: Sweet Caroline and Sterling finishing with a Small Junior Hunter Championship as well.

Congratulations also to Hollin Sutherland and Rafferty who earned a Children’s Hunter, 15-17 Championship and won a Children’s Classic!

Congratulations to the Propp Family

Over The Hill Farm and Bill Schaub congratulate the Propp Family on the purchase of Arabesque!

Arabesque and Clara Propp earned the East Coast Overall 3’3” Grand Championship and the 3’3” Junior Hunter, 15 and under, section championship at the Adequan/USEF Junior Hunter National Championship.

In addition, the pair earned the 2021 USEF 3’3” Large Junior Hunter, 15 and under, National Championship!

OTHF Captures USEF Horse of the Year Championships

Sterling Malnik and Rockette

Over The Hill Farm and Bill Schaub are proud to announce our 2020 USEF National Horse of the Year Champions and Reserve Champions!

Sterling Malnik and her 12-year-old warmblood Rockette earned the USEF National Championship in the 3’3” Large Junior Hunter, 15 and Under, section. The pair also earned the USHJA Zone 4 title as an added bonus!

Sterling’s In Writing, a 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding (Quirado—Pandora VLL), captured the USEF National Money-Won Championship in the 3’6” Green Hunter section with Steven Gregorio in the irons.

Coronation, Sterling’s 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding (Caretino—Simona) earned the USEF National Reserve Championship in the 3’3” Small Junior Hunter, 15 and Under, section.

Sterling rounded out her amazing 2020 season with Prestige, the 10-year-old Belgian Riding Pony (Ive Van De Delthoeve—Bichette Du Molin De Pierres), winning the USEF National Large Pony Hunter Reserve Championship and the USHJA Zone 4 Championship. Sterling also piloted Casino De Luxe to third in the Zone 4 standings.
